Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. The Center for Creativity & Public Health  (The Center) follows these fundamental principles:

  • We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.

  • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law or protect our rights.

  • We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the ongoing operation of one of our services.

  • We aim to make it as simple as possible for you to control what’s visible to the public, seen by search engines, kept private and permanently deleted.

The Center for Creativity & Public Health operates center4cph.com. It is The Center’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our website.

Website visitors

The Center for Creativity & Public Health collects non-personally identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site and the date and time of each visitor request. The Center’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how The Center’s visitors use our website. From time to time, we may release non-personally identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of our website.

The Center for Creativity & Public Health also collects potentially personally identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged-in users and for users leaving comments. The Center only discloses logged-in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that we use and discloses personally identifying information as described below, except that blog commenter IP addresses are visible and disclosed to the administrators of the blog where the comment was left.

Email communications

Individuals may choose to opt-in to receiving email communications from The Center for Creativity & Public Health by submitting their contact information via a form on this website, through event registration or by direct request. You may remove yourself from the email list at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” on any email sent or by contacting us at center4cph@gmail.com  or 651-251-5771 and requesting that your name be removed.

Gathering of personally identifying information

Certain visitors to The Center’s website choose to interact with The Center in ways that require us to gather personally identifying information. The amount and type of information that The Center gathers depend on the nature of the interaction. Those who engage in transactions with The Center are asked to provide additional information, including as necessary the personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, The Center collects such information only insofar as is necessary or appropriate to fulfill the purpose of the visitor’s interaction with The Center. The Center does not disclose personally identifying information other than as described below. And visitors can always refuse to supply personally identifying information, with the caveat that it may prevent them from engaging in certain website-related activities.

Aggregated statistics

The Center may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to our website. For instance, The Center may monitor the most popular posts on center4cph.com  and may display this information publicly or provide it to others. However, The Center does not disclose personally identifying information other than as described below.

Protection of certain personally identifying Information

The Center discloses potentially personally identifying and personally identifying information only to employees, contractors and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on The Center’s behalf or to provide services available at The Center’s website, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. The Center will not rent or sell potentially personally identifying and personally identifying information to anyone. Other than to our employees, contractors and affiliated organizations, as described above, The Center discloses potentially personally identifying and personally identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental requests, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of The Center, third parties or the public at large. The Center takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally identifying and personally identifying information.

Donor privacy

When an individual chooses to make a donation to The Center for Creativity & Public Health, The Center collects name, address, email address, telephone number (optional) and credit card payment information. The Center collects this information using online donation forms or through direct contact with a donor. The Center does not have store credit card information. 

The Center tracks donor information in order to report to our board, thank the donor, recognize supporters in our annual report and understand how to better attract additional donors. Only employees and contractors who need to know in order to process donations on The Center’s behalf have access to personally identified information. Donors may elect to remain anonymous and if they do so will not be recognized in our annual report or elsewhere. 

The Center will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity. In addition, we will not send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

This policy applies to all information received by The Center, both online and offline, on any platform, as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.

Any person can be removed from our lists used for online or offline fundraising appeals by sending a request by email to center4cph@gmail.com or by calling us at 651-251-5771. Upon receipt, we will immediately remove your name and contact information from future appeals. Donors may also contact center4cph@gmail.com  in order to change incorrect information.

Cookies

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. The Center uses cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of the The Center website and their website access preferences. The Center visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using The Center’s website, with the drawback that certain features of The Center’s website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Privacy Policy changes

Although most changes are likely to be minor, The Center may change our Privacy Policy from time to time, and at The Center’s sole discretion. The Center encourages visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to our Privacy Policy. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
